The 5C s of Business Strategy
The “5 C'‘s” framework is a detailed approach that guides companies to create and execute effective strategies. The critical components are; Clarity, Creativity, Capability, Collaboration, and Communication. Let’s review how these collectively can be used to enhance strategy
Clarity
This is requires a deep understanding of the goals of the business. It also looks at values and vision. Looking through SWOT analysis, and root cause analysis to get the simplest picture of the organisation you can. This means that strategy can be aligned with the core objectives of the company.
Creativity
Creativity is the ability to innovate. Whether it is an idea or a solution. It requires thinking outside of the box, challenging existing thoughts, and exploring possibilities. Without creativity, a business cannot generate unique strategies to differentiate from competitors in an ever changing market
Capability
This refers to the capacity of an organisation to effectively execute its strategy, this includes resources, skills, systems, and finance. Each area needs to have confidence, otherwise you could jeopardise the balance of the company. If all these are in place, then the plan can be actioned.
Collaboration
Collaboration emphasises how important it is to work effectively with all company interactions. Whether it is employees, customers, suppliers, or partners. The key is to build strong relationships which facilitates the achievement of goals, whether individual, the company’s or that of a strategic partner. Collaboration enhances analysis and planning by allowing diverse perspectives and expertise into the conversation.
Communication
The all important communication. Without this you cannot simply convey the organisations vision, mission, or values. Clear and concise communication ensures everyone understands the direction of the company and their role in the execution.
